Program Overview
Tenova and SkillStorm partnered with the Maryland Air National Guard's 175th Wing to design and deliver a Cyber Conversion Program that prepares high-potential Airmen from across the Wing for the Cyber Warfare Operations (1B4) Initial Skills Training (IST) pipeline. Through technical assessment, industry certifications and immersive hands-on instruction, participants develop the foundational networking, cybersecurity and Python skills that enable greater confidence and readiness for advanced military cyber training.

Hardware, operating systems, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting discipline — the baseline fluency every operator builds on.
The Requirement — CompTIA Security+
Cryptography, PKI, identity management, threat intelligence, SIEM, and incident response. Meets the DoD 8570/8140 IA baseline for AFSC 1B4 and 17-series roles.
The Edge — Applied Cyber Fundamentals
Adversary tradecraft, attack vectors, and offensive methodology — the mindset that separates cyber operators from system administrators.
Graduates leave certified and qualified for entry into the 1B4 Cyber Warfare Operations training pipeline.
