Jacksonville, FL – December 8, 2021 – SkillStorm, an IT services and technology education company announces the approval of their Accelerator Immersive Certification Program by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Veteran Employment through the Technology Education Courses (VET TEC) program as a preferred training provider. The VET TEC program allows U.S. Veterans to receive technical training without using any of their GI Bill benefits. To be eligible, a Veteran only needs one day of unexpired GI Bill entitlement.

SkillStorm Chief Security Officer and General Counsel, Benjamin Mathews, “VET TEC aligns with SkillStorm’s mission to accelerate careers in technology for veterans. Our immersive, instructor led technology courses prepare students to receive industry-recognized certifications, distinguishing them from other candidates.”

SkillStorm offers full-time, online and in-person technology certification courses delivered by experienced instructors. These 16-week (640-hour) immersive courses are designed to train and certify students in the most in-demand technologies like AWS, Java and Appian. By enrolling in these courses and receiving industry-recognized certifications, veterans will be prepared to enter the tech industry as world-class developers with increased earning potential and marketability in the job market.

“This is really an exciting announcement for our firm and a great addition to the other no cost IT programs we offer to transitioning service members and Veterans. Being a retired Marine, it gives me great pride to be a VA preferred provider of IT training to the Veteran community via VET TEC,” says SkillStorm’s Director of Veteran Affairs, John Tansill.

Participation in the VET TEC program does not count against a Veteran’s GI Bill entitlement. Veterans have to apply and be approved for VET TEC, but only need one day of unexpired entitlement left to participate. The VET TEC program covers the tuition, cost of the certification course and the veteran student will be paid a housing stipend during training.

“Veterans have shown an uncommon commitment to our great country and we at SkillStorm are trying to offer the same level of commitment to help them launch their careers in tech,” says Tansill.
